Esther Thorn Floral Studio
It was an early morning networking event in the heart of the Baltic Creative company where I met Naomi. The Northern Lights building housed my studio amongst many other artists, including Naomi, owner and creator of Esther Thorn, a dried flower specialist.
After a short conversation with Naomi, I wanted to assure her, her shyness for the camera should not overshadow the need to show off the beautiful products all over her Instagram account. Making a body of work like we did can give her months of content to share on socials and give her material to blog about too! It's a great way to illustrate all aspects of your business as well as talking about yourself and what makes you tick as a small business owner.
I told her that she didn’t have to come to my studio but I’d shoot in situ at her workshop where she’d be in her work environment in the cute, little, rustic studio, where she felt most comfortable. One of my unique selling points is that I’m pretty good company so I help you feel super comfortable in front of my camera and also I will guide you throughout the whole process. Nobody ever said they felt nervous but actually at the end of the shoot have always said how much fun it was and that it was not what they had expected at all.
Beyond the art of her arrangements, Naomi's work symbolises a commitment to sustainable living and a connection to the natural world, making her studio a haven for those who also harness a need for harmony, beauty, and environmental responsibility.
My job that day was to capture Naomi in her field of work and help her to reach potential customers. It’s not every day we get to see the behind the scenes making it even more interesting to get a little insight to how it all happens. We got some fantastic shots!
